DWTS Premiere: “LoveTV” Rates Each Couple’s Chemistry on the “Love Meter”

NICK AND PETA:

The Bachelor and the pro-dancer/new mom, were a lot like old and good friends. They were quite sweet together, and yet not obnoxious at all. I will say, however, that his hairstyle needs to go. It looks like  he is the President of the Brillo Pad convention. In rehearsal footage, they got along well and joked with each other and seemed to have fun together. It was a lighthearted energy between them. Erin Andrews commented that Nick seemed to have “more chest situation going on, more bronzing”. Okay, then.

Judges Scores: 6/6/6/6

Love Meter Score: I’m giving them a score of “CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP.” Goes down easy, nothing brilliant, but it ain’t hurtin’ anybody.

HEATHER AND MAKS:

The actress, who was also a backup dancer for Beyonce, seemed almost a bit stand-offish in the first meeting clips with her pro-dance partner Maks. (who is pro-dancer Peta’s husband, and they just had a baby together, in case you didn’t know that. So THEIR love meter is off the charts hot!) Maks seemed very excited that he got her as a partner, since she is an experienced dancer and he said he REALLY wants to win. She seemed annoyed by this and told him not to have such high expectations. Their waltz was lovely, and they looked like the top of a jewelry box, gliding across the floor. But I’m not here to talk about the dancing, and even though they seem to get along just fine, their energy has a sense of superficial about it. Len called them “a match made in Heaven.”

Judges Scores: 7/7/7/7

Love Meter Score: Giving them a hard “BOOB JOB” on the rating. It looks really nice and perky and beautiful, but over time, it’s going to start wearing down. And malfunctioning. Should be interesting.

DAVID AND LINDSAY:

Former Cubs and Red Sox World Series Champ / catcher, and his partner, were super adorable together in every way. He kept calling himself “gramps”, because he just retired after being part of the Cubs legendary World Series win. His teammaters even showed up via Skype after their dance to cheer him on. He and Lindsay are like buttery popcorn or cupcakes. They are so much fun, which is what Carrie Ann called their dance. Julianne loved the pairing, and Len made a bad joke about getting to first base. I like these two.

Judges Scores: 7/7/7/7

Love Meter Score: I give this couple a rating of “CARNIVAL COTTON CANDY.” Sticky-sweet goodness, light and airy.

ERIKA AND GLEB:

Okay, first off, I know I say this every season, but whose name is Gleb? What kind of name is that? Oh, who the hell cares. Gleb is HOT!!! His partner is on one of those “Real Housewives of” so and so place that I could not care less about and don’t follow, so I have no idea who she is. But she screams “reality star.” Apparently she has a song out now, so they did their dance to her song. It was weird. It involved diamonds, a giant creepy unicorn, and lots of grinding. They seemed a bit all over the place, both in movement and in their chemistry. Len found the dance to be “too raunchy.”

Judges Scores: 6/6/6/6

Love Meter Score: “BOTOX.” A bit tightly wound. Expression-less. Monotone.
