You ate ice cream today, but you were on a diet.
Critical Talk:
Things you might say to criticize yourself… “I’m such a failure.” “I can’t commit to anything.” “Why do I keep trying?” I might as well give up.” “I’m fat.”
Love Talk:
Instead of these harmful thoughts you could say, “I want ice cream. I enjoy ice cream. If I eat it once a week, the world will still turn.” “I’m not a bad person for wanting something that tastes good to me.” Diets are good, but they are no way to live. So, if we live healthier, but allow ourselves treats, at least (AT LEAST) once a week, then we can stop feeling guilty for having pleasures.

You dishes, but you didn’t do them today.
Critical Talk:
Things you might say to yourself… “I never do what I say I’m going to do.” “I’m a flake.” “I’m irresponsible.”
Love Talk:
Instead of these harmful thoughts you could say, “What if I just wash one dish today?” “I don’t feel like doing any of this, but I’m going to do it anyway.” “I’m going to schedule this on a particular date and time and make it a priority.” “I’ll ask my friend to help me do it and then we’ll do it together.” If we make the things we don’t want to do our priority, by putting it in a schedule, or having our friends hold us accountable we can get things done. I have a habit of avoiding things, and then feeling bad about avoiding them, but making time for certain things can inspire you to take action.
